About THE PILSLEY

We’ve been sustaining villagers and visitors for 300 years.

Pilsley Village

Pilsley is a rural village that sits around a traditional village green on the Chatsworth Estate. With its village school built by Joseph Paxton, and small clutch of local and estate businesses, Pilsley is a close-knit community with strong links to Chatsworth heritage.

The Farm Shop

Pilsley is home to the much-loved Chatsworth farm shop. Established in 1977, it’s served the Derbyshire community ever since, with the majority of its products produced or prepared on the Chatsworth Estate or sourced from suppliers within 30 miles. The Pilsley Inn sources much of its produce through the farm shop, including estate-reared meat, freshly baked bread, and award-winning beer from local breweries Peak Ales and Thornbridge.

Things to See

In Pilsley village, you’ll find a post office, a village green, and a primary school that’s recently been extended to take in the former Wesleyan Chapel.

Beyond the high street, several paths lead off into lovely woodland walks. The main track was once a packhouse route used to transport lead from Monyash to the coast.
