Enjoy one of four different walks around the Chatsworth estate in the company of an expert guide and other like-minded walkers.

Each walk is led by an experienced and knowledgeable Chatsworth guide, offering the perfect way to learn more about the park and villages surrounding Chatsworth. Find out about how this landscape has evolved and the stories behind the sights as you take in some of the best views Chatsworth has to offer.

Walks are approximately two hours long. Routes vary on week. 

Calton Lees via River

Exploring some of the most stunning views of the Chatsworth parkland and offering an insight into the work of Lancelot “Capability” Brown and his assistant Michael Milliken. The 4-mile route takes in Queen Mary’s Bower, Paine’s Mill, Calton Lees, and Edensor Village.

Exploring the route to Edensor Village and how the area has changed and expanded throughout the 18th and 19th Centuries with glimpses into the earlier past.

The 4-mile route takes in Queen Mary’s Bower, Paine’s Bridge, Edensor Church, and the graves of Joseph Paxton and Kathleen ‘Kick’ Cavendish, Marchioness of Hartington, and sister to American President, John F Kennedy.

The North Park and Golden Gates

You’ll have the chance to explore and learn about the history of the vast estate with Chatsworth’s experienced guide team, including the Rookery Wood, Ice Pond and the Bar Brook. You will explore how the area has changed and expanded throughout the 18th and 19th centuries with glimpses into the earlier past.
