Lost Earth Adventures
For those drawn to the wilder side of the Peak District, Lost Earth Adventures offer guided adventures from gorge scrambling and caving to rock climbing and abseiling. There are three bike hire centres near The Hide, at Ashbourne, Parsley Hay, and Derwent, each providing easy access to popular biking routes.

Horse Riding
Not far from The Hide, Matlock Farm Park offers safe, scenic horse riding through open farmland, forest trails, and an arena. Introduce children as young as three to life in the saddle with pony trekking sessions, which take place daily and include gentle laps around the paddock. With private and group riding lessons also available, learning to ride is a rewarding way to build confidence and explore the countryside in good company.

Go Ape Buxton
For a more adrenaline-fuelled take on the Peak District, Buxton is home to one of the UK’s highest Go Ape courses. The famous Treetop Challenge at Go Ape Buxton invites you to navigate loops of high ropes and aerial crossings, all set against the expansive views of Buxton and beyond. The course takes around two to three hours, as you brave daring obstacles like the iconic Tarzan Swing and eight epic ziplines.
