Printed Lampshades Weekend Workshop
Spend the weekend creating a unique handprinted lampshade
In this practical, artist-led workshop you’ll first get an introduction to screen printing, including tools and techniques, and then you’ll experiment with surface patterns, develop your own design, and learn to make and cut handmade stencils for printing.
Once confident with the process, you’ll prepare your screen and inks, practice on fabric, and create a repeat pattern that will form the basis of your 30cm diameter lampshade.
All materials are provided, though you may wish to bring an apron. Tea and coffee are included, and a break for lunch is scheduled; you can bring a packed lunch or purchase hot meals, soup, and sandwiches from the Carriage House Café.
Doors open at 9.50am for a prompt 10am start.
