Across four centuries, the Devonshire family has read, collected, and championed great writing.
The 2026 exhibition in the house shares Chatsworth’s most treasured works for the first time. Throughout the exhibition you’ll find first editions, manuscripts, letters and artworks rarely shown to the public. Highlights include works from Chaucer, Austen, Brontë and Dickens, alongside other treasures from the Devonshire Archives.
Entry is included with all house and garden tickets.
